2018 Bentley Continental

2018 Bentley Continental used the names of several generations of luxury cars since 1952. After World War II, Bentley moved to resume production of civilian cars, and the factory was moved to Derby in Crewe. There, Bentley engineers this so-called R-Type Continental for three years, from 1952 to 1955. These were derived from the original R-Type, the second series in the luxury line’s postwar Bentley.b The chassis R-Type Continental was independently produced and sold custom coach builders. One of the most expensive cars in the world, only about 208 R-Type Continentals were built in total.

Bentley Continental Type R, Continental S1, S2, and S3 were launched successively from 1955. The S1 was well received, 49 were built although some reviewers felt that the car was inadequate. The deficit has been addressed in later vehicles. S2 opened in 1959, debuted with a new Series L V-8 engine, also used in contemporary Bentley Mulsanne. It also incorporated standard air conditioning and power steering, considered cutting edge at the time. S3, meanwhile, is distinguished by his “four lights on the front wings.”

During the 1950s and early 60s, the Bentley Continental was sold by its powerful engine and reduced suspensions, designed to improve the performance of high-speed. The fastback coupe free specific concepts, lightweight design also helped establish the welfare of their British sales for the postwar period. The second generation of Continental ended in 1965 with the introduction of the T Series replacement. The 2018 Bentley Continental shelf will not be revived until 1984.
