2018 Cadillac CTS-V

2018 Cadillac CTS-V is a high-performance version of the Cadillac CTS. The CTS-V series features three body styles, all equipped with an OHV V8 thrust motor and sport suspension. The 2018 CTS-V four-door sedan was introduced in 2004 and the CTS-V and coupe sports wagon were introduced in 2010 for the 2011 model year, the sedan competes in the North American consumer market by Compared to other high-performance luxury sedans and “echoes” of its quality, but it is more affordable than its competitors like the Audi RS6, BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG option.

2018 Cadillac CTS-V Engine

The engine of the CTS-V 2009 is supercharged LSA 6.2L OHV V-8, based on the LS9 V-8 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. Cadillac CTS-V 2018 model can produce 556 hp (415 kW) and 551 lb·ft (747 N·m) of torque. The possibility of using an overhead valve system (OHV) (also known as engine thrust) is unique in the luxury sedan market, where competitors typically use dual motor camshaft (DOHC). The engine is manufactured in the Silao engine assembly plant in Mexico. The LSA motor has a diameter and a stroke of 4.06 x 3.62 inches (103.25 × 92.0 mm).

The engine block consists of a molded aluminum alloy 319-T5 with cast iron cylinder liners. The crankshaft is made of forged steel using sprayed metal rods. The pistons are made of high-silicon Hypereutectic aluminum alloy replacing the forged aluminum used in the LS9 engine. The compression ratio is 9.1: 1. The cylinder heads are based on the LS3 head of the Corvette and are made of aluminum alloy type 356-T6. The exhaust manifolds are made of cast iron. The compressor is a dual-screw type displacement 1.9 L. 2018 Cadillac CTS-V is the Eaton Twin Whirlpool series (TVS) generating a maximum pulse 9.0 psi (62.1 kPa). The intake air is cooled with a water-air intercooler integrated directly into the booster unit.

2018 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The CTS-V Coupe debuted at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and went into production in the summer of 2010 as the 2011 model has the same 556 hp (415 kW) engine and transmission options as the sedan CTS -V. The CTS-V Coupe features dual centered exhaust sleeves, a larger grid for the air intake and an optional “saffron” interior trim color. Like the 2018 CTS-V sedan, it is standard with 19-inch aluminum wheels, Brembo brakes, and a magnetic bearing control.

The production of the CTS-V sedan began in the summer of 2008 at the GM plant in Lansing, Michigan.
