Audi RS 5

The Audi RS 5 is a high-performance 2 + 2, ensures its menacing looks with a V8 and a symphonic progressive Quattro all-wheel drive. Not only the performance, the Audi RS 5 also offers a stylish and well-trimmed interior. While many competitors forced induction engines is rotated, the Audi RS 5 uses a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter that produces 450 horsepower and speeds all the way up to a high of 8,300 revolutions per minute. The torque is rated at 317 lb-ft and moving tasks are handled automatically by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Fuel consumption is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway and Audi quotes 4.5-second 0-to-60 mph sprint.

A large part of the car’s willingness to his Quattro system than the blink of an eye features are suitable for driving an advanced “sprocket” self-locking center differential, which vary the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles in less attributable conditions. The standard 40/60 front / rear torque distribution provides a sporty, rear-wheel-drive atmosphere, and the system can be up to 70 percent of engine power to the front wheels and 85 percent to send back if needed.

The ring gear diff operates in conjunction with a stability control system that can apply the braking pressure on the inside wheels in curves to under-steer, which otherwise is a defining characteristic, where the car 56:44 front / rear to minimize dynamic weight distribution. An available active rear differential can transfer power between the rear wheels in order to achieve the same end. The Audi RS 5 runs on an aluminum intensive suspension that is lowered 20 mm as compared to that of A5. An available dynamic damping system varies the damping characteristics by diagonally opposed pairs of shock absorbers are connected by hydraulic lines and a central valve.

Throttle response, transmission shift points and steering effort can be adjusted to suit the driver’s imagination by Audi drive select, which offers the choice of Comfort, Auto and Dynamic mode. With the optional navigation system, all of the above properties can be configured individually. An optional dynamic steering works by Drive Select and uses a superposition gear to vary the steering ratio by nearly 100 percent, depending on the speed. The system counter steers easily to the curve border.

Audi packs all this technology under sheet that combines elegance and aggressiveness alike. A unique front fascia with deep air intake is framed by a sharp-edged hood, flared fenders made of aluminum and a splitter. Out back, the Audi RS 5 has the large oval tailpipes, which has become a staple on the Audi RS 5 line. These exhaust tips are completely encased in a highly stylized lower rear apron with aerodynamic channels for added stability at high speeds. Audi also worked in automated rear spoiler, as the coupe achieves high speeds, and then pulls back into the trunk lid at lower speeds sets.

The Audi RS 5 interior is essentially the same as the stylish cockpit of the S5, although there is a unique flat-bottom steering wheel, sport seats available and a selection of exclusive stainless steel mesh, black piano or brushed aluminum inlays.
