The 2015 Audi A6 is a mid-size luxury sedan available in six trim levels: Premium Plus 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium Plus 3.0T Prestige, Prestige TDI and TDI Premium Plus. The 2.0T, 3.0T and TDI designations denote the engine fitted (a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V6, respectively). The high-performance variant S6 is reviewed separately.
Standard equipment for the 2015 Audi A6 2.0T Premium includes 18-inch wheels, Audi Drive Select, automatic xenon headlights, LED running lights and tail lights, auto wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, a sunroof, tri-zone climate control, heated 8-way power front seats, driver memory settings, Leather seats, Bluetooth phone connectivity, Audi MMI electronics interface, a 6.5-inch screen and a 10-speaker sound system with CD player, satellite radio and an iPod interface. Also standard is Audi Pre-Sense Basic safety system.
The 2015 Audi A6 2.0T Premium Plus adds front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, a blind spot monitoring system, pre-sense rear, the power-folding exterior mirrors, keyless ignition, 8-inch display, HD radio, a voice-activated navigation system, a rearview camera, Bluetooth audio connectivity, an improved version of the MMI with improved control and Audi Connect (powered by Google Earth integration, Google searches, smartphone app integration and Wi-Fi hotspot capability). The 2015 Audi A6 3.0T Premium Plus is similar to the 2.0T Premium Plus features, but adds: “S line” Outside improvements and fuel-saving engine stop-start system.

2015 Audi A6 Interior
The 2015 Audi A6 has one of the best cabins in its class, with attractive dash layout, the excellent material quality and solid fit and finish. The known MMI infotainment system controls a dizzying array of functions that use a dash-mounted pop-up window and a controller and buttons on the center console. The system has logical menus and crisp graphics and the “MMI Navigation plus” upgrade contains a touchpad, recognize the fingertips doodles. It is noteworthy sophisticated, but we still prefer the BMW iDrive or Mercedes COMAND for general ease of use.
The improved MMI system also serves as a 3G mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices, and Google Earth data adds to the navigation system while providing a simplified google search for POIs. The hotspot is especially handy if you need to get some work done on the road and there is no Starbucks in sight. Google Earth navigation system is more a matter of form over function, however, and can actually make the map more difficult to understand at a glance.
Front seats of the 2015 Audi A6 are supportive and comfortable, so that even on long trips, although some lack of optional “Super Seats” such as BMW Multi-contour complain chairs. The spacious rear seat offers more real legroom than most competitors. The A6 14.1 cubic-foot trunk is slightly below the average for the segment, but we have in the real world have generously found tests, and the rear seat backs fold and both offer a pass-through if more space is needed.
2015 Audi A6 Engine
The 2015 Audi A6 2.0T is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 220 horsepower and 58 pound-feet of torque. The front-wheel drive and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are standard, but you are more likely to encounter the all-wheel drive version that comes with an eight-speed conventional automatic. Audi estimates zZero-60-mph in 7.4 seconds with the CVT and 6.6 seconds with the eight-speed. EPA fuel economy is combined in a commendable 28 mpg (25 city / 33 highway) evaluated with the CVT and fell on a rather pedestrian 23 mpg combined (20/29) with the eight-speed.
The 2015 Audi A6 3.0T gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that generate 310 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. The 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard, as are the automatic engine stop-start technology. In performance testing, 3.0T sedan went from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, provided fast time to mid-size luxury sedans with similarly powerful six-cylinder engines. The fuel consumption is estimated at 22 mpg combined (18/27), just a tick behind the much less powerful 2.0T.
With the 2015 Audi A6 TDI, you get the best of both worlds. The all-wheel drive TDI 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 cranks out 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, the cooperation with the eight-speed auto. The combo was good enough to hit upto 60 mph in 5.6 seconds in our tests. However, fuel consumption is a stellar 29 mpg combined (24/38), ranking right up there with economical compact sedans. In a test over 400 miles with different driving conditions, averaged 27.8 mpg.
2015 Audi A6 Safety
Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Audi A6 includes antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, stability control, front knee airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. Rear side airbags, rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane Wizard and a blind-spot warning system are optional.
The standard Audi Pre-Sense system can warn the driver voltage close the safety belts and the window when a potential collision is detected during pre-Sense return The brake lights flash as a warning to traffic behind you when you are in danger, rear -ended. The optional Pre-Sense Plus system can all do, and tighten the belts and automatically brakes full force to crash damage from an impending frontal impact to reduce. In brake testing, 2015 Audi A6 3.0T with summer performance tires for the sports package came to a stop from 60 mph in 111 feet, while an 2015 Audi A6 TDI Sport with summer tires, it has 114 meters. These are average distances between comparably equipped middle class luxury sedans. Expect more distance from A6s with all-season tires.
In government crash tests, the 2015 Audi A6 received five out of five stars overall with five stars for frontal crash protection and five stars for side impact protection. Independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Audi A6 the highest rating of “good” in the medium overlap frontal offset, side impact and roof strength tests, while the 2015 Audi A6 seat and headrest design was also “good” for the anti-skid system in a rear impact.
