2018 Acura TL is a mid-size luxury car manufactured by Acura. It was introduced in 1995 to replace the Acura Vigor and was awarded to the Japanese market from 1996 to 2000 as a Honda Inspire and from 1996 to 2004 as a Honda Saber. The TL was the best selling Acura until it was overtaken by the Acura MDX in 2007 model Even though once was the second best-selling luxury sedan in the US behind the BMW 3 Series, sales have dropped by more than 50% since then. Acura TL sales were negatively affected by both recession and negative publicity due to design issues in the last generation. Four generations of Acura TL were produced, and the last fourth-generation 2018 TL was released in 2008 as a 2009 model and completed production in 2014, when it was replaced with the Acura TSX by the Acura TLX. In its last year, the TL was sold in Japan.
2018 Acura TL SH-AWD
2018 Acura TL SH-AWD also includes some interior improvements on the base model and is tuned for slightly firmer suspension and steering feedback. It is visually distinguished from the basic model apart from its SH-AWD logo in the quad exhaust junction tubes and the larger air ducts in the front bumper of cool the larger brakes. The TL is equipped with 245 / 50R17 tires, while the 2018 TL SH-AWD is equipped with 245 / 45R18 tires with optional 245 / 40ZR19 summer tires.
Both models use electric power steering instead of hydraulics, and a revised five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is standard equipment for both models. Acura has announced that a manual transmission will be offered in the SH-AWD 2010 model.
2018 Acura TL Features
The Acura TL 2018 adds more items in an electronic form, including now a central multifunction display, a 276-watt audio system and eight speakers with CD changer, six discs, XM Satellite Radio, connectivity Port USB support and Bluetooth Audio. Both models offer an optional Technology Package that includes premium Milano leather seats, keyless start, a joystick-based navigation system updated with a new full VGA 8 inch (200 mm) and capacity to provide weather and traffic based routing information, and the Acura / ELS audio system with 10 speakers, 440 watts of power, compatibility with DTS 5.1 surround sound CDs, DVD-a, and an internal hard drive 13 GB of dedicated storage for audio. With the ELS audio system, audio CDs are automatically extracted to the hard drive when inserted for later playback. The navigation system also stores your map data on the hard disk, resulting in shorter boot times.

2018 Acura TL Engine
2018 Acura TL equipped with the 6-speed Honda automatic transmission to improve performance and efficiency. The 2012 Acura TL retains the 3.5L base 280 hp (209 kW) 254 ft·lb (344 N·m) as SH-AWD 3.7L models 305 hp (227 kW) 273 ft· lb (370 N·m) engines but now gets 2 mpg more in the city (20 mpg) and 3 mpg more on the highway (29 mpg), thanks to the lower friction of the engine and the 6-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual transmission will continue to be offered. The 2012 model is also quieter 3dB on the road.
2018 Acura TL Safty
The Acura TL uses Honda’s advanced compatibility engineering interface. The Highway Safety Insurance Institute (IIHS) found that the 2009-11 front-wheel drive 2018 Acura TL models (SH-AWD models not included in the study) have a general death rate of 5 deaths per million years registered.
