2018 Dodge Caravan is a family minivan made by Chrysler Group LLC and sold under the Dodge brand. Along with its variants, the Plymouth Voyager and the Chrysler Town & Country, the Caravan was introduced in 1984. In 1987 the Dodge Grand Caravan long wheelbase (LWB) was introduced and sold along with the short-range Caravan Between axes (SWB). The SWB model was suspended from 2007, and since 2008 the truck has been sold only in the Grand Caravan version.
Other variations of the Dodge Caravan are the Chrysler Voyager, the luxurious Chrysler Town & Country, and the Volkswagen Routan. Chrysler manufactures and markets its Minivan worldwide. Along with its variations, Chrysler Minivans have been ranked as the 13 best in auto sales worldwide.
There were three levels of equipment in the 1st generation: the 2018 Dodge Caravan base, 2018 Dodge Caravan SE, and 2018 Dodge Caravan luxury LE. The caravan was in the Car and Driver magazine as the Top Ten on the list for 1985. All trim levels were also available on a slightly longer body called the Grand Caravan, which allows for more cargo space behind the back seat. Most of the interior finishes, controls, and instrumentation, were taken from the K-car.
