The Lotus Evora 2018 model is a sports car manufactured by British automaker Lotus. The 2018 Lotus Evora is developed under the project name Project Eagle, was launched on 22 July 2008 as the Evora at the British International Motor Show. The Evora S was launched in 2010 with a 3.5-liter V6. A sophisticated and powerful Evora 400 model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, followed by a hardcore and powerful variant, the Evora GT430, along with a more street-friendly variant, the Evora GT430 sport revealed in 2017. The 2018 Evora is based on the first brand new vehicle platform from Lotus Cars since the launch of the Lotus Elise in 1995. Evora 2018 model is planning to be the first vehicle of three to be built on the same platform.
2018 Lotus Evora Engine
The 2018 Evora is equipped with a medium-mounted, transverse, Toyota-obtainable 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 engine. The Evora S uses the same engine but with a charger. Both versions are available with Aisin 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with Intelligent Precision Shift. The Evora is built of a modular lightweight-bonded aluminum structure with composite body panels. It has a sophisticated aluminum double-wheel suspension with Bilstein high performance gas dampers and Eibach coaxial coil springs. The steering wheel is by hydraulic auxiliary steering wheel.
2018 Lotus Evora S
In 2010, Lotus unveiled a new variant of the Evora, which was much more focused and powerful than the usual version called the Evora S. The “S” in the name stands for “Supercharged”. The exhaust of the car has also been replaced with a single tube exhaust system. The suspension dampers have been recalibrated to fit the new suspension features of the vehicle. The steering wheel is also calibrated. The price of the car has also increased, now at US $ 77,175. The car could be 0-60 mph (0-97 km / h) in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 172 mph (277 km / h). Lotus stopped production of the S in 2014 and replaced it later and the regular car with a new variant called the Evora 400 in 2015.
2018 Lotus Evora 400
The Evora 400 is a new variant that replaces Evora and Evora S.  The “400” in the name is a reference to the vehicle’s horse collision. The enhanced engine output of 400 hp and 302 lb · ft (409 N · m) is due to an intercooler charger developed by Edelbrock. The Evora 400 has a whole new body kit design, which helps to produce an extra 23 kg (51 lb) of downforce. The exhaust has now a new driver-activated system that allows the driver to increase the noise of the exhaust. The interior has been slightly revised, with a new dashboard design and center console design. The wheel set is also different. The wing is turned into a split back wing. The car weighs 1,395 kg. Acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-97 km / h) is 4.1 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than the S-variant. Top speed is at 186 mph (299 km / h).
2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410
On the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Lotus released the Evora Sport 410, a slightly improved version of the 400. The car’s 3.5 liter Toyota-derived V6 adds an additional 10 hp (7 kW, 10 PS), for a total of 410 HP. The torque is also on, now at 310 lb·ft (420 N·m). The design remains the same because it is only a variant of the Evora 400. The weight drops drastically and is now 1.325 kg (2,921 lb).
The performance figures are faster, due to higher horsepower and lower weight. 0-60 mph (0-97 km / h) is now 3.9 seconds and the highest speed is now at 190 mph (306 km / h). However, if the IPS automatic transmission system is used, the peak speed drops at 174 km/h.
2018 Lotus Evora Special Editions
In 2012, Lotus produced a prototype hybrid Evora, called 414E. Developed as a demonstration project for the British Government’s Technology Strategy Council, the range of extended electric coupe emissions 55 g / km CO2 and has an electric single row range of 30 miles. Combined with the 3-cylinder 1.2-liter petrol engine that acts as a generator, the 414E has a range of 300 miles. The 414E formed the basis of the Infiniti Emerg e concept car.
In July 2011, Lotus Cars donated two Evora S models with special equipment at the Carabinieri, the Italian gendarmerie. Lotus will take care of the maintenance of the cars and training for the drivers. The Evora GTE road version is a variant of the Evora built to allow its renovator to compete under GT3 and LM GTE regulations. Only 25 of these special expenses were built. The roadmotor uses the engine of the racecar, delivering 438 hp, making it the strongest Lotus ever made. The weight of the 2018 Lotus Evora has been drastically reduced and is now 1,277 kg (2,815 lb).
