The 2020 Audi A8 is a barrier-free luxury, high comfort, and dynamic automotive sophistication. 2020 Audi A8 comes with a wide range of infotainment and connectivity technologies, you don’t have to take a break from your digital lifestyle. Like the Audi A8 L, it offers even more interior space, since the Audi A8 60 TFSI e Quattro is an innovative driving option and the Audi S8 TFSI, a plus in sportsmanship. Audi is expanding the range of the Audi A8 2020 with a plug-in hybrid model: the Audi A8 60 TFSI and sedan combine the 3.0-liter V6 engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery under the trunk, combined power is 443 hp.
2020 Audi A8 Features
The excellent 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster is as standard as the top 10.3-inch central touch panels and the 8.6-inch lower touch panels with the MMI touch response system. There is a single volume control for the audio system since most of the functions are controlled through the touch screens. At first, it can be overwhelming, but the system responds quickly and is highly configurable. Users can select their own buttons on the bottom screen and use permanent buttons for navigation, weather, phone functions and radio on the left side of the top screen. Note that the supplied microfiber cloth wears out when fingerprints are removed.
Previously there were two USB ports with a combined data and charging function. The integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay phones is as standard as compatibility with Amazon Alexa. WiFi through Audi Connect Plus is available for an additional subscription fee.
2020 Audi A8 Interior
The impressive passenger compartment is a hallmark of the A8 and its long wheelbase ensures that passengers are well accommodated in the rear seats. Five-seater seats are standard, but an optional four-seat seating package clears the rear center seat and offers a pair of electrically adjustable rear seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, as well as a massage function for foot warming and a pair of individual entertainment tablets. Fine materials abound, and you can request extended leather and wood inlays that are worth a small forest. But similar to the A8, the interior is sober and not as lush as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The boot capacity is modest for a large luxury sedan with only 13 cubic feet.
2020 Audi A8 Engine
The Base 55 TFSI is equipped with a V-6 with turbocharger and a power of 335 hp, while the 60 TFSI is equipped with a two-turbo V-8 453 hp engine. Both versions use a lightweight hybrid system in which the alternator also functions as a starter. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. The 60 TFSI e plug-in hybrid combines the V-6 with an electric motor integrated into the torque converter of a modified version of this transmission and a 14.1 kWh battery pack mounted on the rear. The Audi A8 TFSI e 2020 develops 443 hp. So far we have only tested the V-6 version, which ran from zero to 60 miles per hour on our test track in 5.3 seconds. In six-cylinder executive sedans, this is at the level of the Mercedes-Benz S450, but a few tenths below the fast pace of the BMW 740i.
Optionally available with the V-8 there is a more developed active chassis that looks for bumps in the road and takes measures to compensate for it. With the basic suspension, the Audi A8 isolates it from the bumps in the road, but it can also hit a side road in a bad mood. The accuracy of the address is remarkable, although there is not much feedback. Braking is a powerful suite because our TFSI 55 test car stopped at a distance of 100 km/h in just 200m.
The six-cylinder A8 improved its 27 MPG EPA road approval on our 75 MPH test track at 3 MPG. But it only coincided with his estimate of 19 mpg in the city during his time with us. We have not tested the V-8 model, which has an EPA rating of 15 mpg in the city / 23 mpg on the highway. The plug-in hybrid has an output of 21 MPG (city) and 27 MPG (road) and a combined output of gas and electricity of 54 MPGe. Its 14.1 kWh battery pack also allows a fully electric range of 27 km that meets EPA.
2020 Audi A8 Safety
The Audi A8 2020 has the same driver assistance technologies as other high-end sedans. If the A8 is equipped with a traffic jam assistant, it helps you accelerate and brake in heavy traffic, but your hands cannot leave the steering wheel for more than a few seconds. Neither the National Road Safety Authority (NHTSA) nor the Road Safety Insurance Institute (IIHS) has subjected the Audi A8 to a crash test. The most important 2020 Audi A8 safety features include a lane departure warning system, a lane departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic assistance at the rear, adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous level 2 driving mode and a night vision system.
